Stunning poem. I've been thinking about memory so much. I watched a tv show yesterday, a medical drama, and there was a patient who had to have a tumor removed from his brain. He would keep all memories before the surgery, but would be unable to form new memories. He wanted to die, but then decided to live with the condition. I wonder if it wouldn't be a kind of release to no longer make memories....??
“a quieter way to remember” Love this. Beautiful poem, thank you.
How many ways do I love and relate to this? The delicacy, the images, the quiet paring down, the truth of it, the recognition, the acceptance.
