As a young writer, I kept a list of the rejection stories about other writers, ones I'd admired. It was the earlier days of the Internet when you couldn't just easily search something like that for commiseration when you needed a boost. The one that I remember most is that Stephen King nailed all of his to a wall to fuel him.
These days I don't feel such a need. I try to live by the faith that my job is to put the writing out there and it will find the people it's meant to find. But it helped a lot when I was insecure and unsure of whether or not I could "be a writer."
