I’m really enjoying and impressed with your exploration of loneliness in popular culture. I’ve never really thought of its connection to Stalker but you make so clear here - really well done!
In each new essay, you provide even more novelty in your approach to writing and analyzing. I love how poignantly you explored both the film and the book side by side.
A deep exploration of the book and the film, thank you.
I have only seen the film, not read the book, though your piece makes me want to return to the film and go read the book (I'm finding that Substack is resulting in my TBR pile growing ever larger!!)
I enjoyed the film a lot, though it wasn't what I was expecting it to be. I saw it in a cinema a few years ago and the long, slow shots were really something on the big screen. We even had an intermission. Was quite the experience.
Thank you for taking the the time to read and share your thoughts. The book is really interesting too, and you’re right Substack does make your TBR pile even bigger. I wish I could of seen this on the big screen, there are so many movies that are seen more special when then that way.
Aww thanks dude, that’s so kind of you to say!

Thanks for documatary link by the way. Definitely going to give that a watch.
You’re nice than welcome, Cinema Tyler has a really cool selection of documentaries. The Kubrick ones are really amazing.
