I love this! I studied Othello twice during university and no other Shakespeare play has been able to match the impact Othello had on me. Thank you for sharing!
from someone that has absolutely no background in literature and art and who paid zero attention during high school i love these longer posts. i feel so... educated
Never read Othello but your analysis make me want to ! Never thought that different motives/traits could lead to the same result (loneliness) and that it could be so destructive, probably because in french we tend to use the word solitude for loneliness too (instead of isolation). In this case, remember that i didnt read the book, based on what you said of Iago, is he really lonely or does he wants solitude so much that he play with people ?

Thank you for this, and for reading. Much appreciated 🙏
I've never seen or read Othello. I probably ought to. Very interesting, thanks!

That’s so so kind of you to say! I’ve got another longer post coming soon, hopefully 🤞
i'll be here!
Glad to hear it 👌🏽
I’ve never really understood Iago’s motives in destroying Othello. The theme of loneliness is insightful, thanks for this.
You’re so welcome 👌🏽
