Mine too. The book is very different from the film, but still worth a read. What did you make of Blade Runner 2049? X

I also loved it though very different. The aesthetics were so interesting. Really want to watch it again to reflect more. What about you?

We used to teach Bladerunner in the Comparative Literature department I worked in. Just such a rich film.

I loved it too, apart from the film’s attitude towards women...I think every woman bar one dies in the movie...but it looks amazing and I liked it overall. Oh wow that sounds so fascinating, what an amazing thing to study. One of the first things I wrote about here was Blade Runner

Great essay, my friend! I’ve never read Philip K. Dick, and was surprised to learn that he wrote The Man in the High Castle. Made me remember that I hadn’t finished the Amazon series, so now I’m watching the last season. Gonna be adding the book and A Scanner Darkly to my tbr list!

A lot of information here that I never knew about. Very sad about his sister.

An influential author who affected and inspired many. I still have much of his ouvre to read, so this has given me another nudge ;)

A great essay. I loved Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, despite the fact that I read the Romanian translation and it just wasn't very good. Unfortunately, for the same reason, I kind of hated The Man in the High Castle. In fact, I hated the translation so much I stopped reading his books. I suppose I should give him one more try, in English this time!
