Books..? Not sure about that haha! I’m sure I can bring you ALL of the books! Love recommending and giving books to my favourite people. That means you, obviously lol x
What a charming, cozy tradition. Not that I need new books. (But also, I always need new books. It's why my TBRs have gone from piles to entire bookshelves!)
The unread books in my TBR stack make me sad. And then I bought James Baldwin's THE PRICE OF THE TICKET, which is as thick as a phonebook, so that's what I'll be reading for the rest of my life (slow reader savoring every word). But I love giving books, especially to kids. Books will change your life. And, please, people, buy from Bookshop.org if you have to shop online and not the guy who wants to corner the market/squeeze out local independent stores. Indie stores are the kind hearts hosting your favorite authors (and can give a better recommendation than any algorithm). Love the tradition, Matt. Merry merry. xo
I’ve always been enchanted by this tradition. Also, thanks for the book recommendations. Robert MacFarlane is one of my favorite writers but I’m not familiar with the rest.
I went to a Jólabókaflóð party 5 years ago and to date is the best Christmas season party I have ever been to.
Thank you for the reminder! Maybe I can throw one next year myself.
Oh nice, that sounds awesome! Can I come too?☺️
I’ll put you on the top of the guest list!
Aww aces, special treatment 💕 Shall I bring anything?x
Books!! Lol
As we’re a year out from the event I’m starting by creating a page in my journal to start tracking my favorite books that I’ll discover in 2024.

We all need more books…or at least more bookshelves..
Too true.
How beautiful and uniting, dear!
It’s kinda magical isn’t it x
What a wonderful idea. Thank you for sharing.
